Product Description
The Sliding Gear consists of teeth that protrude radially from the gear and match corresponding slots on the gear shaft. When the gear lever is shifted, the sliding gear moves laterally along the gear shaft, aligning the teeth with the slots of the desired gear. This engagement locks the sliding gear and the gear shaft together, enabling the transfer of power from the engine to the transmission output. Conversely, when the gear lever is shifted to another position, the sliding gear disengages, separating the gears and allowing for a smooth transition to a different gear ratio. Attributes: • Carburized to achieve a minimum hardness of 61 on the Rockwell C scale to resist wear • Designed with 14 teeth in the internal involute for fitting over the Governor Control Shaft Applications: The Sliding Gear contributes to the precise and efficient transfer of power while offering drivers control over the speed in manually operated transmission.
