A Backup Ring is an anti-extrusion ring It prevents extrusion or damage to an elastomeric seal, such as an O-ring or a piston seal, under high-pressure or dynamic conditions. They provide support to the seal, limiting its radial expansion and maintaining its effectiveness. Attributes: Offer good resistance to extrusion and high-pressure conditions. Provide support to the seal and help to distribute the sealing load. Applications: A Backup Ring is used in high-pressure applications and is mainly used in Cat® M315D, M315F, M316, M316C, M316D, M316F, M317, M317F, M318, M318C, M318D, M318F, M319, M320, M320D, M320F and MH3022 Excavators, M318D, M320F and MH3022 Material Handler.
