Product Description
Description: The Intermediate piston ring, also known as the compression ring, is a critical component in the internal combustion engine. It is located in the middle groove of the piston and is responsible for sealing the combustion chamber and maintaining proper compression within the cylinder, and regulating the flow of oil to the cylinder walls. This ring in the piston jet assembly forms a trio that provides a tight seal to the cylinder wall and prevents the blow-by of the combustion gases. Attributes: • Minimize friction between the piston and cylinder wall. • Capable of withstanding the extreme heat and pressure generated by the engine. • Precision machined to fit the piston groove and cylinder bore. Applications: The Intermediate piston ring scrapes off excess oil from the cylinder wall during the downstroke and stores it in the groove to lubricate other rings. It is exclusively used in Cat C-16, 3406E Engine - Truck.
