257-1779: Bucket Top Wear Plate Cover

Bolt-on top mounted wear plates protect the bevel and top part of the base edge between the adapters where top wear is a concern. They also help protect top adapter strap welds from eroding as the result of abrasive wear. This eliminates adapter/base edge breakage. Made from through-hardened DH-2 steel, these Cat® Right-hand plates are used with bolt-on half arrow segments to provide complete base edge coverage and reduce weld joint wear. They are designed to deliver optimum strength and wear life comparable to the wear life of the half arrow, reducing maintenance frequency. Top wear plates bolt in place quickly and easily, using longer segment bolts and nuts.
