Descriptions: A Camshaft Drive Gear is a component in an engine that is used to transfer power from the Crankshaft to the Camshaft. The Camshaft is responsible for opening and closing the engine's valves, which allows air and fuel to enter the combustion chamber and exhaust gases to exit. The gears allow the rotation of the Camshaft to correspond or be in time with, the rotation of the crankshaft and thereby allow the valve opening, valve closing, and injection of fuel to be timed to occur at precise intervals in the piston's travel.
