447-5252: Piston Kit

An Engine Piston Kit is used in a reciprocating engine to transfer forces from expanding gases in the cylinder to the crankshaft through the connecting rod. The piston kit contains the piston body, pin, and rings. The piston body contains machined grooves that will house rings and they prevent pressurized gasses from passing from the combustion chamber to the crankshaft case. They contain machined grooves for wear rings that ride on the inside surface of the cylinder assembly to prevent damage and scoring of the piston or cylinder assembly.
