462-5635: Solenoid Valve

A Solenoid Valve is to control the flow of fluid and provide a means to Shut Off the fluid supply in a unit. It consists of a Solenoid coil, a movable plunger or spool, a Valve body, and ports. When the Solenoid coil is energized, the plunger is pulled towards it, causing the Valve to open. This allows fluid to flow through the Valve and into the downstream equipment. Conversely, when the Solenoid coil is de-energized, the plunger returns to its original position, closing the Valve and stopping the flow of fluid. Attributes: • Minimizes the potential risks and hazards associated with uncontrolled fluid flow • Consumes minimal power and require energy when changing states Applications: A Solenoid Valve acts as an electromechanical safety device that controls the flow of fluid in a unit by using an electromagnetic coil to open or close the Valve mechanism in a Hydraulic Line.
