A Check Valve, also known as a non-return valve or one-way valve, is a mechanical device used to control the flow of fluids (liquids or gases) within a piping system. Check valves are designed to allow the fluid to flow in one direction only, preventing backflow or reverse flow when the fluid tries to move in the opposite direction. They play a critical role in ensuring the efficiency, safety, and reliability of fluid systems. Attributes: • Incorporate a spring mechanism to assist in keeping the valve closed until a certain pressure is reached. • The valve seat is a sealing surface against which the flap or disc closes to prevent backflow. • Offer low resistance to flow, minimizing pressure drop across the valve when open.
