Product Description
The Idler Gear in an Engine Oil Pump is used for proper lubrication and functioning of the Engine. It acts as an intermediary gear between the crankshaft and the driven gear of the oil pump, enabling the transfer of rotational motion and facilitating the circulation of oil throughout the engine. The primary function of the idler gear is to maintain a continuous and consistent flow of oil to the engine oil pump. The idler gear provides a mechanical advantage by increasing the speed of the driven gear relative to the crankshaft. The gear teeth are precision-cut to ensure proper meshing with the other gears and minimize noise and vibration during operation. Lubricating oil is circulated within the oil pump, and the idler gear is used to minimize friction, reduce wear, and dissipate heat generated during operation. Attributes: • Precision-cut gear teeth for smooth meshing and reduced noise • Requires proper lubrication for minimal friction and wear • Assists in dissipating heat and maintaining proper engine operating temperatures • Rockwell hardness is 58 minimum of the surface from 0.80 to 1.20mm Applications: This Idler Gear serves to transfer rotational motion from the crankshaft to the driven gear, facilitating the circulation of oil throughout the engine for lubrication and cooling purposes.
