An Air Starting Motor Piston is a part of the Air Starting unit used to initiate the rotation in engines for Starting. It is cylindrical in shape with machined surfaces to ensure a tight fit within the cylinder of the Air Starting Motor. The top surface of the Piston, known as the crown is subjected to high-pressure air during operation. It consists of a ring over its surfaces to facilitate heat reduction between the cylinder wall and the Piston.
