Description: A gland is fitted with seals to prevent pressurized oil from leaking past the interface between the rod and the head. Attributes: The gland is an iron ring that is machined to house multiple seals and rings on a hydraulic cylinder group. The seal configuration may vary based on the application. The purpose of the seals is to both contain suspension oil, and also effectively provide contamination control by wiping the rod surface clean during the reciprocating action of the rod. Recommended Application: This style of gland is used in an off-highway truck suspension system. It provides sealing functionality between the strut housing and also the suspension strut rod.
