Product Description
A Magnetic Proximity Sensor used in an engine digital input card typically operates based on the principle of magneto-resistance. Magneto resistance is the change in the electrical resistance of a material when subjected to an external magnetic field. The sensor consists of resistors with multiple fine ferromagnetic and non-magnetic layers. When a magnetic field is present, the resistance of the ferromagnetic material changes, and this change is detected by the sensor.
