606-5160: Torsion Coupling

Cat® Torsion Hub and Coupling is used to connect the engine to the hydraulic pump, and to absorb the torsional vibrations and shocks that occur during operation. They are part of the power train system that transfers the mechanical power from the engine to the hydraulic system, which then powers the drive wheels and the attachments. The torsional hub helps to reduce the noise and vibration from the engine, and to protect the hydraulic pump from excessive torque or speed fluctuations. The torsional hub also allows for some misalignment between the engine and the pump shafts.
