A Lip Seal, also known as a Radial Lip Seal or Shaft Seal, creates a dynamic barrier between a stationary part, such as a housing or casing, and a rotating or reciprocating part, such as a shaft. It consists of a flexible elastomeric lip that is in contact with the rotating shaft. The Seal prevents the escape of lubricants, such as oil or grease, and the ingress of contaminants, such as dust or moisture and other foreign particles.
