9C-8740: Basic Air Dryer

An Air Dryer facilitates the removal of moisture and impurities from the compressed air stream. The air dryer has inlet and outlet ports, which are connected to the air compressor's output and downstream pneumatic unit respectively. Air dryers use adsorption to trap moisture in the desiccant material. During operation, moist air passes through the desiccant, where water vapor is adsorbed onto the material's surface. Attributes: • Reduces the risk of damage due to segregation of particles • Prevents freezing in airlines and equipment, ensuring uninterrupted operation in cold environments Applications: An Air Dryer is used to prevent condensation and potential damage to the downstream pneumatic equipment by extracting moisture from the compressed air.
