The Governor Control Pedal is to enable the operator to control the speed of an engine. By modulating the position of the Pedal, the Operator can adjust the desired speed of the engine. The pedal's position is detected by a sensor, a potentiometer, which converts the mechanical motion into electrical signals. The speed signal generated by the pedal is then sent to the governing unit of the engine.
