Description: A Straight Sleeve Bearing sometimes called bushings, journal bearings or plain bearings facilitates motion between two components. They are appropriate for a variety of heavy-duty applications because of their high load capacity. Sleeve bearings are made of metal, plastic, or fiber-reinforced composite sleeves. This Sleeve Bearing is placed inside the head of the tube assembly to provide smooth operation of the piston rod. Attributes: • Provides mechanical stability with low coefficients of friction. • Can handle radial load and thrust loads. Applications: A Straight Sleeve Bearing is used in Steering Cylinder to provide support for the piston rod as it moves in and out of the tube, generally used to reduce the friction between the moving parts. Widely used in Cat 424B and 424B HD Backhoe Loaders.
