Inlet air plenums make a transition between one geometry or shape to another. An inlet plenum usually attaches to the outlet of a fresh air precleaner or duct and the inlet of the air cleaner. To help minimize the overall inlet air restriction of the system, an optimally designed plenum would minimize the pressure drop through the plenum.
