Description: A Backup Ring, also known as a support ring or anti-extrusion ring, is a mechanical device used in conjunction with O-rings or other types of seals to enhance their sealing performance in high-pressure or dynamic applications. The primary purpose of a backup ring is to prevent extrusion or deformation of the primary sealing element under demanding conditions. Attributes: • Offer good resistance to extrusion and high-pressure conditions. • Provide support to the seal and help to distribute the sealing load. Applications: A Backup Ring is used in the Track Tensioner Cylinder to prevent fluid leakage and maintain the desired pressure and is mainly used in Cat 301.5, 301.6, 301.7, 301.8, 301.9, and 302 Excavators.
