Description: A Wear Ring, also known as a guide ring or guide band, is a component used in various types of machinery and equipment to provide support, and guidance, and minimize friction between moving parts. It is typically used in dynamic applications where there is relative motion between components, such as pistons and cylinders or rotating shafts. Attributes: • Enhance the overall sealing performance of the cylinder system. • The wear ring acts as a barrier between the boom cylinder and the boom. • Prevent direct contact between the two metal surfaces. Applications: A Wear Ring is installed within the Hoist cylinder housing where the piston rod extends and retracts. It is positioned in close proximity to the cylinder bore, ensuring proper alignment and support for the piston rod and is mainly used in Cat 963 and 963B Track Loader, 980C, 980F and 980G Wheel Loader.
