Description: An insert meters Hydraulic fluid and is part of a hydraulic cylinder piston assembly. Attributes: An insert used in a hydraulic cylinder piston is used to meter hydraulic fluid, and minimize high velocity movements of the piston and rod assembly to eliminate cylinder damage. As cylinder cavity pressure increases, it is allowed to bleed off through the inserts to allow cushioning of the piston as it approaches the cap or red-end of the cylinder. Recommended Application: This type of hydraulic cylinder insert is commonly used when a hydraulic cylinder is used in application with consistently heavy loads, such as a tilt cylinder on a large track-type tractor.
