A Spur Gear is used in the Final Drive of various mechanical units, It is a cylindrical gear with teeth that are parallel to the gear's axis of rotation. The teeth on a spur gear are straight and extend radially from the gear's center. As the input shaft rotates, the teeth of the spur gear interlock with the teeth of the mating gear, transferring power and causing the output shaft to rotate at a proportional speed.
