9U-7360: Piston Ring Groove Gauge

The Piston Ring Groove Gauge is used to check the amount of top and intermediate ring groove wear to determine piston reusability. The tool has five gauges, each machined to a specific thickness, and an information tag. The tag provides information on which gauge to use for different pistons, according to engine bore size. If the gauge can be fitted into the groove, the piston can not be used again.
