344-2149: Basic Engine Cylinder Head

A Cylinder Head is the top part of an internal combustion engine that closes the combustion chamber. It contains the valves, spark plugs, and other parts that control the flow of air and fuel into and out of the cylinders. The intake valves allow air to enter the combustion chamber. The exhaust valves allow exhaust gases to exit the combustion chamber. The valves are opened and closed by the camshaft, which is driven by the crankshaft.
