533-7443: Oil Level Sensor

An Oil Level Sensor is a long, thin metal tube with a float or sensor tip at the bottom, inserted into the engine crankcase or reservoir. As the oil level fluctuates, the float or sensor tip moves up and down, sending a signal to the Engine Control Unit (ECU) or an indicator light on the dashboard. This information allows the driver to monitor oil levels and take necessary actions like adding oil or scheduling maintenance. Attributes: • Provides early warning of low oil levels to avoid catastrophic engine failure due to lack of lubrication • Made of metal housing which ensures the proper functioning of the sensor Applications: An Oil Level Sensor is mounted inside the engine sump or reservoir, where it comes in contact with the oil. As the oil level fluctuates due to machine operation, the float moves up and down, triggering the reed switch or altering the capacitance/light signal. The control unit interprets these signals, calculates the oil level, and displays it on the dashboard or uses it to activate warning lights or alarms if oil levels become too low or high.
