A Spherical Roller Bearing is a type of rolling contact bearing, which consists of short rollers that are positioned and guided by the cage. The cage holds the rolling elements together and spaces them evenly around the periphery of the shaft. Spherical roller bearings can accommodate heavy radial loads and can operate at high speeds. Attributes: • Should provide a clearance of radius 2mm on both sides of the raceway. • Provided with a groove of width 2.84mm • High radial rigidity, therefore suitable for applications where high precision and accuracy are needed • Low coefficient of friction and less frictional loss in high-speed applications Applications: A Spherical Roller Bearing is used to prevent direct metal-to-metal contact between two elements that are in relative motion.
